Mobile Application Development

LIS4930

Another course I took in the Spring of 2012 was Farhood Basiri’s major elective LIS4930 Mobile Application Development. In this course, we took a look at the business end of mobile application development and the usability of pre-existing applications. Here is a mock-up of a Functional Spec for a College of Communications and Information Mobile iOS Application that I completed for this course.

The following year, I had the opportunity to take Farhood Basiri’s second course on the topic, LIS4930 Advanced Mobile Application Development. In this course, we again had to evaluate a preexisting mobile application and then create a report with possible revisions to improve usability. I have linked my User Experience Evaluation below for the iOS free mobile application entitled “To Do: Organizer + Cal + Grocery List + Alerts”. Also in this course, we had to design, develop and code an mobile application to be App Store ready by the end of the semester. I designed a closet application, called ‘Outfit of the Day’ or OOTD for short, to catalog the items in one’s closet and make picking out an outfit an easier process. Below I have linked the application debriefing, complete with description, functionality, mock-ups, and screenshots for my mobile application.
